Maidstone LitFest kicks off with a celebration of books and reading at Maidstone Museum
A big thank you to everyone who supported us at the launch for Maidstone's first LitFest on Thursday at the beautiful Maidstone Museum. We are so pleased to be bringing this event to our town.
The LitFest was officially opened by the Mayor of Maidstone and Cllr Claudine Russell with a great performance from poet/rapper Paul Cree. The Mayor then cut into an amazing cake which did indeed look like a pile of real books!
Maidstone’s first LitFest has been able to happen due to the government’s Shared Prosperity Funding available this year. To ensure its future, please support us by attending events, to give the festival a legacy within the town.
The project so far has been a true collaboration between people who love books, reading and engaging children and readers of all ages.
With special thanks to:
Kent Libraries, Registration & Archives
Lockmeadow Entertainment Centre
And our wonderful volunteers!!
