How one community-minded company shared the joy of reading for World Book Day

To celebrate World Book Day on 7th March we had the absolute pleasure of delivering free books to the schools that took part in last year's festival. These donations were made possible by the generosity of local business Fairdeal Windows.

The books purchased through their donation will find their way into the hands of eager learners, igniting imaginations and broadening horizons. Through these stories, children will explore new worlds, encounter diverse perspectives, and develop essential skills that will serve them throughout their lives.

The whole team at Fairdeal Windows contributed to this endeavour, wrapping the gifts ready for delivery. “We’re delighted to support Maidstone LitFest and the massive range of benefits it brings to our local community," said Bobby Kambo, managing director of the company.

"As a family firm, being able to benefit schools through the festival was very important, and we hope the books donated are enjoyed by many students over the years to come”

The books were received with excitement at 16 schools around the town, just in time to celebrate World Book Day and all the wonderful literary activities the schools had planned.

"It’s absolutely fantastic that Fairdeal Windows provided dozens of books for schools in the local area," said local children's author Gianna Pollero. "It’s donations like this that make a huge difference and help encourage young people to read."
