Holly started her writing career as a news journalist, where she was nominated for
Best Print Journalist of the Year. She then spent six years working as an editor and
relationship advisor for a youth charity, helping young people with their relationships
and mental health. Inspired by what she saw, she started writing teen fiction,
educating young people about feminism and healthy relationships. Alongside her
writing, Holly has a keen interest in women’s rights. She’s the youth ambassador for
Women’s Aid and tours the country educating young people about healthy
relationships. She’s also worked with SANE as an ambassador and ran the ReThink
mental health book club.
She read Journalism Studies as The University Of Sheffield where she achieved a first class degree, and her
dissertation won The Sheffield Star Prize. She also edited the Student Union’s women’s magazine – Stiletto –
during her time there.
